The baby blanket I love so much, i made it three times!

When I was preggo with my second child, I went a little crazy with the crafting...okay, a LOT crazy.  I found this 'faux' chenille blanket tutorial on Aesthetic Nest, which has the best and cutest patterns for little girls, and I HAD to do it.

The first one I made went to my good friend who was also preggo at the time with a boy.  For my first pass, I think it turned out pretty good.  I picked a white, red and yellow fabric for the underside, which worked well.  The printed fabric was the doodle art orange, from alewives fabrics.  I thought this would work well for a boy.  My friend seemed to love it, and I was kinda jealous to give it away...so, I had to find another excuse to make one.

Here's the second, and I think the best version.  I made it for my nephew, and used green, yellow, and blue for the chenille.  I really like the bright colors.  I found the 'Made with love by your favorite aunt' tag at Hancocks, and ofcourse had to add it!!  The printed fabric is Alexander Henry 2D Zoo in chocolate, one of my favs!  I ordered it through Hawthorne Threads, who have an amazing website, full of ideas.

Here's the third version, which I made for my little peanut.  I would have done the back in different colors, but the options I found were pretty limited.  But, it is kinda nice not to take away from the print.  The patterned fabric is Amy Butler's Optic Blossom in linen.  My mom had ordered me a diaper bag from bagenvy on etsy in the same fabric, and I have loved it!  It's a great print.
